Egypt University to Hold Quran Competition

TEHRAN (IQNA) –  Sohag University in the city of Sohag, Egypt, plans to hold a Quran competition for its students.

 

According to alkhalj website, the university’s Department for Supporting the Youth will organize the event on Tuesday.

Contenders will compete on recitation of the Holy Quran.

The contest is aimed at identifying Quranic talents to promoting Quran reading and recitation among the students.

Quran recitation is very popular in Egypt The country has introduced some of the most prominent Quran reciters to the Muslim world in the past decades.

Some of them, like Abdul Basit Abdus Samad, have been praised for their Quran recitation skills by Muslims worldwide and even by non-Muslims.
